Tim Smith
Tim Smith is the Senior Director-Built Environment, Transportation and Public Works-Cement Association of Canada & Director-ISCP (July 2019-present). Tim provides technical support and expertise to Team Leaders and Project Managers on pavementengineering, design, rehabilitation and maintenance projects and other civil infrastructure assignments. He also provides support and assistance on high-level materials technology on environmental remediation and other projects that may involve solidification and stabilization usingcementitious systems.
Prior to this position, he was the Director, Expertise—Pavement and Materials Technology-Englobe in Ottawa, Canada Area (August 2018-present) and the Pavement and Remediation Solutions Manager for Lafarge Canada. He was involved in promoting Lafarge-based solutions for pavement and brownfield related applications and developing solutions for potential customers who are experiencing pavement or contaminated site related issues. Tim is the former Director of Transportation & Public Works-Cement Association of Canada, where he worked for 17 years as a technical expert on concrete pavements, roller compacted concrete pavement, engineered soils and brownfield remediation. He also worked with New Brunswick Department of Transportation, Marine Atlantic and Stantec Consulting Ltd.
Tim is a member of several technical committees in for the Transportation Association of Canada and a member of the Ontario Good Roads Association-Concrete Liaison Committee.
Tim is a Director of the International Society of Concrete Pavements (ISCP), and was also Chair of the 10th International Conference on Concrete Pavements which was held in Québec City, Québec from July 8-12, 2012. He received the 2007 American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) “Outstanding Health, Safety & Environmental Stewardship Award”.
Tim was a contributing author and member of the technical advisory committee for the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center (CP Tech Center) “Guide for Roller Compacted Concrete Pavements”.
Tim holds a B.Sc. Eng. and M.Sc. Eng (Transportation) from the University of New Brunswick.
