Dr. Jeffery Roesler is the Ernie J Barenberg Chair Professor and Associate Head of Graduate Studies and Research-Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He is also the Associate Director of the Advanced Transportation Research and Engineering Laboratory (ATREL) and holds the Illinois Chapter—American Concrete Pavement Association Faculty Scholar Award. Dr. Roesler has been conducting research on a variety of rigid pavement topics for the past 15 years including structural design, curling, fatigue and fracture of concrete slabs, fiber reinforced concrete, recycled and by-product materials for concrete, and sustainable pavement designs. He has authored/ coauthored more than 160 publications in these research areas. A registered professional engineer in the state of California, Dr. Roesler is an active participant in TRB, ACI, and is currently Vice President-International Society of Concrete Pavements. He teaches classes at the University of Illinois on pavement design and analysis, concrete materials, project-based learning, and geometric design of roadways. He spent 2009-2010 as a Visiting Professor at the Catholic University of Chile on a Fulbright Scholarship.
