The inaugural California Concrete Pavement Conference is set to take place on April 16-17, 2025, at the University of California at Davis, bringing together industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to discuss sustainable, long-life concrete pavement. This groundbreaking event will provide attendees with insights into cutting-edge technologies, best practices, and innovative solutions that are shaping the future of concrete pavement design and construction.
The first day of the conference, April 16, will feature a full day of sessions at the UC Davis Activities & Recreation Center Ballroom. Highlights include discussions on California concrete pavement projects, the state-of-the-art Pavement Management System, and asset management tools designed to maximize infrastructure investments. A key session on reducing the embodied carbon content of concrete pavement will be followed by a panel discussion featuring experts from Caltrans, Cemex, and the CP Tech Center. Attendees will also have the opportunity to celebrate excellence in the industry during the 2024 SWCPA Concrete Paving Awards and explore innovative scheduling efficiencies from major infrastructure projects.
On April 17, participants will tour the University of California Pavement Research Center (UCPRC), where professors and researchers will showcase the Sustainable Concrete Lab2Slab Initiative and conduct a test track concrete pour. Attendees can also experience hands-on demonstrations at the FHWA Mobile Concrete Technology Center, exploring the latest advancements in materials selection, mixture design, and pavement evaluation. The day’s activities will be complemented by an authentic street taco lunch and multiple guided tours of UCPRC’s state-of-the-art testing facilities.
With a packed agenda covering the latest in pavement design, sustainability, and construction efficiency, the California Concrete Pavement Conference is poised to be a must-attend event for professionals dedicated to advancing the durability and environmental impact of concrete infrastructure. By fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange, this conference will help shape the future of California’s transportation networks and beyond.
