The National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB), successfully organized the 18th International Conference & Exhibition on Cement, Concrete & Building Materials at Yahobhoomi India International Convention Center, New Delhi, India. The conference was held from 27 – 29 November 2024, and is part of a biennial series of such conferences.
The theme of this year’s conference was “Cementing the Net Zero Future”. The conference brought together major industry players in the of Cement and Concrete sector, Policy makers, Academics, Professionals, Engineers and Scientists under one roof and discuss future action plans aimed towards clean and green production and responsible consumption of the resources utilized in cement sector to ensure long term sustainability.
The conference saw a number of scientific papers presented on four major themes:
- Low Carbon Cement
- Cement plant machinery and project engineering
- Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCU&S)
- Productivity enhancement and process optimization
Besides papers, the conference also say keynote speakers from industry and academic leaders. The opening keynote speaker was Prof. SP Shah, Emeritus Professor at Northwestern University, Illinois, USA, who spoke on “Carbon Conscious Concrete and Nanotechnology”.
