The 13th International Conference on Concrete Pavements is excited to announce a keynote lecture by Dr. Andrew Minson of the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA). Dr. Minson will present “Global Perspectives on Decarbonising Whole Life Cycle of Concrete” during the Opening Plenary Session on Monday, August 26, 2024.
Dr. Andrew Minson, BEng (Hons), DPhil, CEng, FIStructE, FICE, is a leading authority on sustainable construction and the Director of Concrete and Sustainable Construction at the GCCA. His work focuses on the global net zero delivery strategy and collaborating with international bodies such as the IEA, OECD, WEF, and the UN. Dr. Minson is also involved in initiatives to promote the positive role of concrete in achieving the UN sustainable development goals.
Before joining the GCCA, Dr. Minson led The Concrete Centre in the UK, where he collaborated with the design and construction community on sustainable concrete solutions. A graduate of Civil Engineering from the University of Queensland and a Rhodes Scholar with a DPhil from the University of Oxford, Dr. Minson spent a decade as an engineer with ARUP in London, working on architect-led building projects worldwide. He remains active in the global Institution of Structural Engineers, having served on both the council and the board.
