The International Society for Concrete Pavements (ISCP) held its Combined Annual Membership and Board Meeting on Sunday, January 7, 2023, at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC. Board of Directors Elections and Recognition
The gathering began with a warm welcome and introductions, followed by the approval of the January 8, 2023 meeting minutes. Noteworthy was the acknowledgment of outgoing board members Rolf Breitenbücher, Erwin Kohler, Luc Rens, and Peter Taylor for their significant contributions. The newly elected members, including Anna-Carin Brink, Juan Pablo Covarrubias, Lucio de Salles, John DeSantis, Sushobhan Sen, Tyler Speakmon, and Leif Wathne, were welcomed for their four-year terms. Additionally, Jeroen de Vrieze was appointed by the Board for a two-year term.
ISCP Achievements and 2024 Plans
A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the forthcoming 13th International Conference on Concrete Pavements (ICCP), scheduled for August 2024 in Minneapolis. Plans for 2024 include finalizing the OJS, adding a classic paper repository, and exploring collaborations with events such as EUPAVE Symposiums and FHWA conferences.
Membership Growth and Strategic Initiatives
The meeting highlighted efforts to increase ISCP membership through a successful 2022/23 individual members drive. A strategic planning session series initiated in November/December paved the way for discussions on 2024 plans and challenges, including executive committee elections, communications manager considerations, and continued strategic planning sessions.
Financial Overview and Technology Advancements
Secretary-Treasurer Amirkhanian provided a detailed financial summary for 2023 and proposed the 2024 budget. The Directors of Communication, Sushobhan and Salles, discussed updates to the ISCP website and newsletters. The Technology Transfer Committee reported on the implementation and expansion of OJS, exploring the potential for a webinar series.

The meeting concluded with discussions on new business, including a Code of Ethics dialogue led by Amirkhanian.
