While the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) has great promise for our industry, its success will be partially dependent on access to the materials, equipment, and manpower needed to meet the expected increase in demand.
On December 16th, 2021 the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced their first-year airport funding amounts from the IIJA. The money can be invested in runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects, as well as terminal, airport-transit connections and roadway projects. This funding announcement, for which airports can submit proposals to the FAA imminently, prioritizes the primary destinations for these funds:

Ed Griffith, New Chairman-ACPA and St. Mary’s Cement stated, “2022 appears to be the start of a new era in concrete pavement. IIJA ensures that there will be no shortage of funding for concrete pavement projects in the years to come.
