ACPA New Website Officially Launched!

The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) has officially launched its completely upgraded and restyled website at www.acpa.org.

Andy Gieraltowski, Vice President of Operations/IT-ACPA said, “The website design is significantly improved with rich quality content, which includes a mix of videos, professional photos, document libraries, and interactive elements. The search and navigation systems are vastly improved to connect users quickly to the content they need.”

Scott Mueller, Vice President of Marketing-ACPA said, “Our goal with the new website was to increase the opportunity to share information proactively with the broad spectrum of our customers and other site visitors. As such, the type of information and level of detail are different among all site visitors, so we’ve tailored our approach to provide a broader range of information to meet the needs. This is important because regardless of the site visitors’ role in the transportation construction community, we know that the ultimate goal is the same: It’s ultimately all about building and maintaining high quality, sustainable, durable pavements that provide the best return on investment. The site redevelopment was driven by our customers’ needs to get information faster. The new ACPA site has built-in features to enhance and expedite searches so visitors can get the information they need when they need it.”

Accessibility & Speed:
Gieraltowski added, “In keeping with the pace of digital technology, which has changed dramatically in recent years and continues to change frequently, the site was also upgraded to ensure compatibility with:
• Desktop computers
• Laptop computers
• Mobile devices—tablets and smart phones”

The new website continues a long tradition of ACPA’s commitment to using digital technology to provide support association members, customers, and others in the transportation-construction community. Examples include:

1995
Early adoption of ACPA’s first website—also one of the first in the transportation construction industry.

2011
Development of the industry’s first digital apps library which includes web/digital device applications used to perform a wide range of functions used in pavement design, construction, and evaluation.

2015
Development of WikiPave: First known online, encyclopedic source of technical and general information about concrete pavements.

2018
Co-development and launch of PavementDesigner.org—the first web-based portal for the design of concrete pavements used for streets, roads, parking lots, and industrial facilities.

Over the past few years, ACPA has also developed a number of “Explorers” (across the United States) which provide perspectives and examples of:
Historic concrete pavements
Agency practices
Concrete overlay
Roller compacted concrete (RCC) projects

The official launch of the website was February 1, 2021, and was supported with press releases to the business, trade media, and social media. To read the full press release, one of several versions written and released, please go to: www.acpa.org/industry-news/web-launch020121/
