Meet Nicolas Marks—CP Tech Executive Board Member

When the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center (CPTech Center)‘s Executive Board of Directors considers which initiatives can make the greatest impact, the voices of professionals working in the concrete industry are important to hear. The Executive Board of Directors provides outstanding guidance in business operations, including management and finances. As a result, board members with detailed knowledge of all steps of the cement manufacturing process play an important role in CP Tech Center Executive Board deliberations—including roads and bridges. The quality of any road or bridge is necessarily constrained by the quality of its construction materials. The CP Tech Center‘s new Executive Board member, Nicolas Marks, Director of Technical Services-Continental Cement. Marks, represents the Portland Cement Association (PCA), and is uniquely suited to provide such perspective.

Marks holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the College of Business at Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University, and brings to the Board an extensive background in process engineering and process optimization. Marks is known as a hard-working Process Engineer with sound technical knowledge about every aspect of cement manufacturing. He has very strong communication skills—both verbal and written, is patient, listens to the opinions of others while being a sound decision-maker, and has the perfect profile to be a successful manager.

The CP Tech Center welcomes Marks to its Executive Board and to its mission of expediting the transfer of scientific research and proven technology relating to the design, construction, and preservation of concrete pavements and bridge decks.
