In September 2019, TC Pavements (TCP®) hosted a technical visit to the pavement section of the international mountain route between Coñaripe and Pellaifa took place in the region of Panguipulli, Los Ríos, Chile where there is the presence of snow in winter and rain throughout the year.
Tendered by the Ministry of Public Works, this stretch is composed of structural-fiber-reinforced concrete paving slabs with optimized geometry of 15-cm thick slabs.
Initially, the road surface was compacted granular material,
so the goal was to significantly increase the standard of quality and
safety of its paving for transit users. The construction has required
major interventions in the geometry of the
best methods to widen the road.
