The 9th African Transportation Technology Transfer (T2) Conference 2020 will be held May 27-29, 2020 at the AFECC Gloria Hotel in Maputo, Mozambique, Africa. Mozambique, through the National Roads Administration (ANE), will be hosting the 9th Africa T2 Conference theme is “Building Resilient Transport Infrastructure for Social and Economic Development”. Regularly organized by Association of Southern African National Road Agencies (ASANRA), and co-sponsored by Research for Community Access Partnership (ReCap) and China Henan International Corporation Group Co. Ltd (Chico), the African Transportation T2 Conferences provide excellent platforms for sharing, exchanging and debating experiences, new technology, and best practice in the provision, maintenance and management of all modes of transport. A goal of holding the 9th Conference in Maputo, Mozambique is to put Maputo in the rout of Technology Transfer (T2), contributing to innovation in transport infrastructures.

The Africa T2 Conference is a forum for sharing and exchanging new approaches on technology transfer that enable countries to develop effective integrated transportation systems which are safe, efficient, reliable, and affordable. Since inception in May 2001, when the 1st Africa T2 Conference was held at the Arusha International Conference Centre in Arusha, Tanzania, the conferences have been providing a forum for government agencies and their representatives, academics, consultants, transport sector stakeholders, contractors from around the world and mainly Africa, to discuss acute transportation needs and provide some of the solution to transportation needs.

OBJECTIVES
• To promote Technology Transfer for Developing Sustainable Transportation Systems in Africa
• To promote establishment and operations of Technology Transfer Centers as means for facilitating appropriate effective technology transfer in the transport sector
• To provide a forum for discussion and exchange of views as well as learn experiences of best practices and innovative solutions in the Transportation Industry.

ASANRA was established in March, 2001 in line with The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Protocol on Transport, Communication and Meteorology with the aim of enhancing regional policy coordination and transport integration in order to improve intraregional road transport efficiency and lower transport costs. Membership of ASANRA is composed of representatives of National Road Agencies, Educational institutions, the private sector, and other interested parties. ASANRA has organized eight (8) in Tanzania (twice), South Africa, Malawi, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and most recently Zambia.

Maputo and Mozambique Overview—Maputo is a capital of Mozambique, located in southern region of Mozambique. Mozambique is an important location geographically as the transportation hub which inland countries can reach into Indian Ocean.
