PROGRAM:
1) Following the ASCP 5th Concrete Pavements Conference, Tim Buckingham-Jones will provide an overview of the Pavement Value Workshop that was facilitated by Leif Wathne, Executive Vice President-American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA).
2) Cash Eagle will refer to an interstate highway project win Georgia, USA where significant increases in strength and durability were achieved using carbon nanotube technology.
3) Jason Moran will provide an insight into starting from scratch to tackle the largest concrete paving project in Australia on the Woolgoolga to Ballina project, and Jamie Egan will report on the trial use of recycled glass in concrete on the project.
4) John Hodgkinson will provide an explanation of the thickness design software and user guide, and give a few demonstrations of its use.
5) Steve Latham will look at the different types of curing compounds and whether their conformance to the standard and specification requirements is sufficient. Proper curing of concrete is essential for strength and durability. Discussion will be welcomed.
6) Basil Ben, in his RMS update, will report on two research programs that have been initiated with UTS with a view of achieving long term sustainability outcomes.
