The 15th International Congress on the Chemistry of Cement (ICCC 2019) will be held September 16th–20th, 2019 at the Prague Congress Centre in Prague, Czech Republic. Organized by Research Institute of Binding Materials Prague and the Czech Cement Association under the auspices of Milos Zeman, President of the Czech Republic, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the 15th ICCC 2019 will present the most current knowledge of the cement and concrete branch—from the laboratory research to the operational results from all over the world. The ICCC 2019 is the renowned global platform which summarizes the state of art of cement chemistry as well as major trends in cement application. Following the previous successful congresses, the last in Beijing, China, the 15th ICCC 2019 will be a big challenge for both organizers to keep and to improve the very high standard of congresses and satisfy all expectations of attendees. The 1st ICCC was in London in 1918—providing a strong and fruitful link between the academic world and the cement industry, and stimulating scientific exchanges and discussions between students and those who have gained working experience in all of the many fields of chemistry relevant to cement production and its use in concrete and mortar.
The Organizing Committee is pleased to host this unique event in the Czech Republic—a small, pleasant country in the heart of Europe. ICCC 2019 offers participant a unique occasion to visit Prague—one of the most charismatic cities on Earth! It is renowned for its rich history. It is home to musicians W.A. Mozart and Antonin Dvořák; photographer Josef Sudek; writers Franz Kafka, Bohumil Hrabal, Karel Čapek and Josef Čapek; legendary Astronomers Tycho de Brahe and Johannes Kepler; Professor Albert Einstein (Prague’s Charles University 1879-1955); Rabbi Löw ben Bezalel (creator of Golem); artists Alfons Mucha (Art Nouveau), František Bílek (Art Nouveau and Symbolistic, sculptor, architect, graphic designer, illustrator…); Oscar-winning Director Miloš Forman (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Amadeus), Nobel Prize winners: First Peace Prize winner (1905) Berta von Suttner-Kinsky and Literature (1984) Jaroslav Seifert; and home of Madeleine Albright, first female U.S. Secretary of State; stunning architecture; friendly people; and a fun-loving culture—Franz Kafka Museum, worlds first Mucha Museum… Everyone from around the world is invited to come and actively participate in this event, to get new information and contacts and to enjoy the favourable social activities.
