ABOUT THIS FORUM

  • Concrete pavements major projects database
Picking up where Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) left off, ASCP has liberated and extended a list of concrete pavement major projects to an online environment for access and editing. Project records extend as far back as 1975 and record key attributes of each project, such as type, contractor, year open, and length. Justin Moss, Associate Technical Director & Team Leader (Pavements) Arcadis, will provide a preview of future availability, editing and reporting.
  • Industrial pavements project report – joint system solution Concrete supply to major road infrastructure projects CCAA industry support
Martha Cove Boatyard has a 3,000sqm concrete hardstand area which will accommodate vehicular traffic carrying loads in excess of 70 tonnes. Kate StorerEngineering Development Manager ANZ – Flooring & Pavement-Ramsetreid, will be presenting details of the 20-mm PD3TM Plate Dowel Cradle which provided a total contraction joint system solution. Such dowel cradles are suitable for shipping port and airport facilities. Presentations by Hanson, Holcim and Boral will look at the challenges, logistics and outcomes related to supplying large concrete volumes on major road infrastructure projects. David Hocking, Chair of the CCAA Australian Concrete Technical Committee, will discuss matters related to industry support currently on this committee’s agenda.
  • Vehicle detector loops
The placement of vehicle detector loops in continuously reinforced concrete pavements provides a challenge. In this presentation, Eduardo Alcazar, Associate Infrastructure-Pavements Aurecon, will look at how it was done on the WestConnex New M5 project.
