Eric Ferrebee, P.E., Technical Services-American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) represented ACPA at the American Concrete Institute (ACI)‘s: ACI 325 , ACI 327, and 330 Committee Meetings in October 2018. The ACI 300-Series Committees focus on Design and Construction of Concrete Pavements. The ACI 325 Committee on concrete pavements includes the Pavement Design subcommittee (325-0A-Pavements-Design, Chair: Jon Malarky), and is working on a new design guide based on PavementDesigner.org—the pavement design portal co-developed by ACPA, the Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) Research & Education Foundation, and Portland Cement Association (PCA). Brian Killingsworth, P.E., Executive Vice-President-National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA), represented the cement and concrete industries at the meeting. Other subcommittees included Overlays and Accelerated Paving.
The ACI 327 Committee on RCC Pavements is developing a draft Guide to RCC Design and Construction. Ferrebee also reported that the ACI 330 Concrete Parking Lots and Site Paving Subcommittee is updating their Guide to Parking Facilities, of which he previously developed and furnished design runs using PavementDesigner.
Ferrebee also attended the 17th Annual Nevada Infrastructure Concrete Conference (NICC 2018) in October. Through his comprehensive presentations on PavementDesigner.org at both the ACI Committee Meetings and NICC 2018—Ferrebee has reached another 200+ potential users of the pavement design portal!

Goals: Develop documents, sessions, and webinars on the latest technologies in the design and construction of concrete pavements.

ACI Committee: ACI 327 – Roller-Compacted Concrete Pavements
Committee Mission: Develop and report information on roller compacted concrete pavements.
Goals: 1) Complete main committee Report on Roller Compacted Concrete Pavements; 2) Develop documents and sessions on improvement and expanded use of roller compacted concrete for pavement applications; 3) Develop specification for Roller Compacted Concrete Pavements.
