The Australian Society for Concrete Pavements (ASCP) 4th Concrete Pavements Conference, held at the Mantra on Salt Beach, Kingscliff, NSW, Australia, began with a Social Dinner at the Mantra Pool Deck Sunday evening July 16th, with the conference July 17 and 18, 2017. The second social event, the Conference Dinner was held Monday night at the Grand Ballroom, Mantra on Salt Beach.
Attendees included 154 Australian and international professionals who are actively involved in facilitating improvements in the design, construction and quality of concrete pavements in Australia. The ISCP Directors and Members who attended were: Peter Taylor, Anna-Carin Brink, Justin Moss, John Figueroa, Geoff Ayton, George Vorobieff, Craig Whitaker, Todd Myers, and Anne Beldeens. Other outstanding presenters included: Moon Won, Jeffrey Gagnon, Kurt Smith, Gary Mitchell, and Julian Dann.
The conference provided the concrete pavements industry with access to the latest global information on developments in design, construction, materials, equipment, project case studies, and research related to concrete pavements. The trade exhibition provided a valuable opportunity for companies to showcase their products and services, promote their business to potential customers, further develop existing relationships, and showcase products and services to industry professionals and decision makers. The 2017 paper and presentation themes included: roads, airfields, ports, construction, CRCP, design, materials and priorities, low-noise diamond grinding, tunnels, heavy industrial, rail/light rail, and rehabilitation—including recycling of pavements or materials, and maintenance.
