The National Concrete Pavement Technology Center (CP Tech Center) at Iowa State University, USA, invites those in the industry to take advantage of its Technology Deployment Opportunities, Training Topics, & Student Resources. A central mission of the CP Tech Center is to accelerate the deployment of concrete pavement advancements. To accomplish this, the center, along with federal, state, and industry support, has implemented a national technology deployment program for the concrete paving community. Through this program, the center has helped train agency and industry personnel in almost every state in the U.S. and in Canada.
State Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and local agencies, engineering consultants, materials suppliers, contractors, quality control personnel, and technicians are invited to schedule a One- to a One-and-a-Half-Day Training Workshop based on a variety of training topics. These topics include Concrete Overlays, Pavement Preservation, Joint Durability, RCC and more. No two training events are ever exactly the same. When an agency indicates an interest in training, the CP Tech Center works closely with key staff to understand the organization’s specific needs and design a training agenda that meets those needs. A day in advance, staff from the CP Tech Center travel to the host state to meet with the agency and make nal adjustments to the training delivery and schedule. The components, agenda and training materials may include:
• Expert Team
• Workshop
• Guides & Printed Materials
• Handouts
• A Site Visit
• Online Computer-Based Training Modules
• Review evaluation data
• Report sites
• Ongoing recommendations and guidance
