The Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) has teamed with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)‘s Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) and Water Resources Research Center’s (WRRC) Low-Impact Development Committee to publish the first comprehensive handbook for the proper design, construction, and maintenance of permeable concrete or asphalt pavement systems.
Permeable Pavements addresses a cornerstone of low-impact development and sustainable design:
- Slabs or interlocking paver systems that reduce stormwater runoff volume
- Increase groundwater recharge
- Improve water quality
