The 65th Annual Concrete Conference will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, USA. The one-day conference is sponsored by the University of Minnesota’s College of Continuing Education; and the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering, College of Science and Engineering.
Through the years, concrete construction concepts and technology have changed in response to new and recurring challenges facing the industry. Performance, durability, restoration, repair, innovation, and research continue to be important topics for those involved in concrete construction. In 1950, concrete industry professionals met with University of Minnesota Engineering faculty and Continuing Education staff to design a professional development program for engineers, contractors, architects, consultants, educators, and engineering students. The result: an inaugural conference in December 1951—became an annual University offering now in its 64th year. Individuals interested in this conference include practicing engineers, engineering faculty, consultants, and state and county agency employees.
Conference presenters include practicing engineers, engineering faculty, and consultants who will offer information on current technology and practice. Speakers will include:
- Kevin Dalager, M.A. Mortenson Company
- Katelyn Freeseman, University of Minnesota
- Eric Grenz, M.A. Mortenson Company
- R. Douglas Hooton, University of Toronto
- Colin Lobo, National Ready Mixed Concrete Association
- Edward Sullivan, Portland Cement Association
- Larry Sutter, Michigan Technological University
- W. Jason Weiss, Oregon State University
