Program Description

Washington State University (WSU) is a public research university located in the beautiful Palouse in inland Pacific Northwest. The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE) at WSU offers courses of study leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering, Master of Science (M.S.) in Civil Engineering, M.S. in Environmental Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering. Approximately 120 seniors graduate with a B.S. degree each year. Approximately 80 graduate students are in residence, one-third of which are typically Ph.D. candidates and the remainder are pursuing M.S. degrees. CEE students consistently perform above the state and national passing rates on the national Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam. WSU graduates are actively sought by industry, consulting firms and government employers.

The CEE Department houses a concrete material characterization laboratory for testing pavement materials equipped with tools and equipment for mixing, casting and curing concrete, several electromechanical and static hydraulic frames for characterizing concrete mechanical properties, as well as equipment for testing durability of concrete and other properties of fresh and hardened concrete.
